G / Ton Units Definition
Gram
The gram (g) is also a unit of weight measurement in the International System of Units (SI). A gram is the basic unit that measures mass. It is often used for larger weights, such as ingredients in recipes, packages, and other everyday items.
Ton
The ton (symbol t) is a unit of mass which is worth one thousand kilograms, or 1,000 kg1. We can also write: 1 ton = 1×103 kg. Sometimes, to distinguish it from other tons used in particular in the United States and in certain technical fields, it is called a “metric ton”. It is equivalent to 2,204.622,621,849 imperial pounds (lbs). The tonne appears in Table 8 of the SI2 brochure: it is not a unit of the international system (SI), but its use associated with the SI is accepted because of its important practical role.
